Our staff speaks English, French, Arabic, and Spanish, so people from all countries are welcome and will feel comfortable.

Learn Arabic through immersion

If you are studying a language in Morocco, staying in a Moroccan home will exponentially grow your language learning and cultural awareness. A homestay is a glimpse into real Moroccan life. You could stay in a hotel or riad, but staying with a Moroccan family allows you to experience life as locals do. The homestay includes full room and board, with home-cooked meals every day, as well as living daily life with the local family, being immersed in culture and language. Consider doing a homestay in the first six months of your language learning to receive maximum benefits.

Intensive Arabic Courses

Intensive study at Crossroads Cultural Exchange means studying two 90-minute class sessions per day, five days a week. Students are also expected to spend time outside of class studying, doing homework, and practicing with local people. We offer classes in the local dialect of Arabic (Darija) and Modern Standard Arabic.

Learn Moroccan Culture

Go deeper in understanding Moroccan Culture by studying specific aspects of life, history, and culture. We offer 90-minute workshops on Moroccan History, Moroccan Hospitality, Islam in Morocco, Moroccan Music, Jewish History in Morocco, and Amazigh Culture.

“I studied Darija at CCE and stayed with one of their homestay families for about two months. It was a fantastic experience that I will always remember. The teachers at CCE were patient, explained things well, and are experts in the fields they teach. My homestay family quickly incorporated me into the family, and they allowed me to observe and participate in local Moroccan life. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity and would highly recommend CCE for anyone else considering a similar experience.”
